Inspiration
As a Gospel singer, Bible Student and AWS Cloud Application Developer, I wanted to create a tool that helps people study Scripture deeply and interactively. BibleStudy360 AI was born from the idea of making the Bible accessible through modern technology — combining faith, cloud, and AI.
What it does
BibleStudy360 is a multilingual voice assistant that: • Answers Scripture questions using AI reasoning via Amazon Bedrock • Reads verses aloud with Amazon Polly • Understands voice commands for studies, commentary, and verse exploration • Supports English now, with Amharic, Greek, and Hebrew planned • Stores reflections and prayer notes through DynamoDB/S3
How we built it
• Frontend: HTML, CSS, JS, Web Speech API • Backend (Planned): • Amazon Bedrock (Claude 3.5 Sonnet) – reasoning and context generation • AWS Lambda + API Gateway – voice and text orchestration • DynamoDB + S3 – spiritual journal storage • Amazon Polly / Transcribe / Translate – multilingual voice experience • AWS Amplify + Cognito – hosting and secure user access • Amazon Location Service – visualize ancient Bible maps
Challenges we ran into
Integrating faith-based content with accurate AI reasoning while maintaining theological neutrality was a unique challenge. Balancing cloud architecture with ethical AI was another key learning moment.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
• Deployed live AI Bible Study prototype
• Integrated multilingual and multimedia design
• Created a scalable serverless architecture with AWS services
What we learned
• How to orchestrate generative AI using AWS Bedrock • Integrate multilingual voice with Amazon Polly and Transcribe • Design responsible faith-based AI interactions
What's next for BibleStudy360 AI Assistant
• Bedrock Knowledge Bases for classic commentaries (Matthew Henry, Calvin, etc.)
• “Critical Thinking Mode” for seminary-level discussion
• AI-powered journaling and weekly spiritual progress reports
• Prayer reminders and life integration using Calendar API
• Community-led commentary submissions
• Mobile app and AR/VR Bible map experience
