Bible Quiz Quest

Inspiration

My inspiration was building something fun for my family to use during our family worship to deepen our faith. I wanted to create an engaging way to learn and discuss biblical stories, characters, and teachings together, making scripture accessible and enjoyable for all ages.

What it does

Bible Quiz Quest is a web app offering interactive biblical trivia. Users can select quiz categories, difficulty levels, and themes from the Old and New Testaments. It features real-time scoring, shareable leaderboards, and a user-friendly interface to foster learning and friendly competition.

How we built it

We built Bible Quiz Quest using Bolt.new, leveraging Tailwind CSS for responsive and modern styling. The app uses JavaScript for interactivity, with a JSON database to store questions. Bolt.new streamlined the development process, enabling rapid prototyping and deployment.

Challenges we ran into

Creating a comprehensive question database was time-consuming, ensuring accuracy and variety. Balancing difficulty levels for all ages was tricky. I also faced issues with optimizing performance for smooth quiz navigation and real-time scoring on slower devices.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud of crafting an intuitive, engaging app that families enjoy. Successfully integrating a robust question database and leaderboards was a win. Positive feedback from early users during family worship sessions was incredibly rewarding.

What we learned

While building Bible Quiz Quest, I leveraged Bolt's AI chat interface to quickly implement features like Supabase auth using natural language prompts. Its integrations with tools like Figma and Netlify, plus an in-browser dev environment, simplified my workflow. Bolt’s code generation, debugging help, and one-click deployment were key for a solo developer.

What's next for Bible Quiz Quest

I plan to add multiplayer modes, mobile app versions, and more question categories. Integrating user-generated questions and offline functionality is next. We aim to expand accessibility with multilingual support and audio narration.
