Inspiration
I was inspired by the PowerPoint presentation given yesterday discussing the beginner track challenge as well as the fact I myself am a minority and I would like to know what challenges I would face when I decide to get apply for a mortgage loan.
What it does
It uses the decision tree classifier model from sklearn to predict loan approval rates as well as calculate the importance of features
How I built it
It is built in python using jupyter notebook via anaconda.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge I faced is data representation. This project has showed me that I need to work on presenting my data into easy to understand graphs.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am most proud of facing the challenge I mentioned head on and improving my weakness.
What's next for Biases in Harris County Mortgage Process
I will continue to work on the project. I will perhaps try to include more charts for easier explanation.
