Inspiration

My inspiration for this project was the desire to contribute to social justice and fairness in the corporate world. I aimed to harness the power of AI to identify and mitigate biases in company policies, with the goal of creating a more equitable and inclusive environment.

What it does

The Bias Detection and Mitigation Via AI tool leverages OpenAI's GPT-3.5 Turbo and LangChain to analyze company policies for biases, including racial, gender, and age biases. It identifies biased sentences, offers unbiased suggestions, and provides analytics on policy bias percentages. Users can easily input policy text or upload a PDF for analysis.

How we built it

We built this tool using a combination of Python, OpenAI's GPT-3.5 Turbo, LangChain, and web development technologies. The application utilizes natural language processing and machine learning to detect biases and suggest unbiased alternatives.

Challenges we ran into

During the development process, we faced challenges related to model fine-tuning, integrating PDF upload functionality, and ensuring the accuracy of bias detection. We also had to address performance and scalability issues to make the tool efficient and user-friendly.
