Bhojan for All

This is an Android Application which connects the Food Donors to the Volunteers, NGOs.

Inspiration

Everyday lots of Food gets wasted at our Houses, Restaurants and Functions. But hardly people donates instead they throws them into Thrash. This application solves the problem.

What it does

This application makes both the Donors and Volunteers get connected on the same platform. So if there is an availability of excess food, this will be updated by the Donor and Volunteer will pick up food from Donor's Doorstep and delivers to Poor and nearby NGOs.

How we built it

I built it using Android Studio with Java, I also used Firebase for managing the Authentication and some other services like Realtime Database, Storage and Cloud Messaging.

Challenges we ran into

Faced many Errors while coding where I took hours to figure out them eventually. But it was fun debugging the code.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

This application is capable of creating an impact in the society once it is used.

What we learned

I learned Developing Android Apps using Java, Firebase and sending Notifications through Cloud.

What's next for Bhojan for All

I am going to change the User Interface, and add a new feature to donate Clothes apart from Food.
