Inspiration
The problem with most social platforms today is that the posts of the users do not represent authenticity. The majority of posts are spawned with the main intention of representing a perfect life to others.
While other networks to solve this issue such as BeReal exist, representing authentic moments of users’ lives, users find that posting without a meaning is not satisfactory.
What it does
We want our users to be exactly themselves. BFFR allows users to give an input where a BINGO board is created with tasks for them to complete using OpenAI. With posts representing the completion of tasks generated through the interests of users, it not only represents the hobbies our users love to participate in, but also exhibits the day in the life of our users.
The BINGO aspect allows for users to compete and have fun to finish faster than others as they race to finish their own board before everyone or multiple users could even share the same board to race. This provides an incentive, and a reward to using the app. This would also generate a culture of our community and add to the uniqueness of our social network compared to others.
How we built it
We used TypeScript, NodeJS, and OpenAI
Challenges we ran into
We ran into issues in generating the board, and also having people share their completion. Verification was also very tough.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Generating the board using the API is an accomplishment the team is proud of. Implementing the rest should be easier given that this step is done.
What we learned
Some of our group mates learned how to code in TypeScript, use NodeJS, and use an API. We also learned how to efficiently create a project in 24 hours.
What's next for BFFR
We want to continue to optimize and implement our program prior to general release.
