Inspiration
As current second-year Marianopolis students we found some aspects that we think if we had them would have improved our experience at Mari. So, we wanted to give those ideas to the current and incoming first years.
What it does
BetterOx is a platform that aims to provide multiple resources that help with the students' academic success while taking care of their mental health.
How we built it
We used Replit, imported flask, and we used html and css to create a website.
Challenges we ran into
It is the first time for both of us to use all the above tools and techniques and languages and platforms. It is hard to understand some of the explanations since we are very beginners.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We managed to create a website that is functional with multiple functionalities such as buttons, aesthetics, backgrounds, subpages, images, navigation bars.
What we learned
Everything. We learned how to start a website using html and to style it using css. We also learned how to link separate webpages.
What's next for BetterOx
We would like to improve our coding skills and then improve our website so the students can actually use this website to help their studies. They may search for teachers, resources, upload documents, live chat with student union, forum for questions, and connect with alumni and volunteering organizations.
