Inspiration

We were largely inspired by the prompt to create a project that would reduce sports-related injuries

What it does

It's a two-pronged proof of concept. Part of reducing sports injuries is making sure people know how to prevent them, so we have the skeleton of a chrome extension that would send sports people information on ways to prevent sports injuries by proper stretching. The second prong is that our sports-related injuries largely come from the games we invent

How we built it

The Chrome proof-of-concept was created in Javascript, and the robot is a Boe-Bot coded in BASIC Stamp Editor.

Challenges we ran into

We never got to finish our app due to none of us really having experience in Javascript, however, we learned a lot from the experience. Also, getting the robot to work was surprisingly difficult. The robot was built for use with Windows computers, and so it had to be adapted to be used on our Linux machine.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that we were able to learn so much in such a short amount of time, and were able to accomplish some of our goals

What we learned

We learned that it is challenging to learn a programming language in a day, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try it. Both languages, Javascript and BASIC Stamp Editor were languages that we were inexperienced in, we wanted to give ourselves a challenge so that we could grow as developers

What's next for Better Safe than Sorry

We're all young undergraduates, we're hoping to get internships in our respective fields, and grow in our programming journey.
