Inspiration
Due to the lack of prompt and the lack of easy starting places for ideas, we took the event itself as our prompt and attempted to create a project unique to Klein Hacks.
What it does
Design for an improved website with hyperlinks, multiple pages, and animations
How we built it
We used a service called Figma to create an in-depth design for the front end of the project, which we had considered to be the most important aspect of the project.
Challenges we ran into
We initially planned to create and host an actual website using the free domain supplied to us by the event organizers, (furthering the theme of a project unique to klein hacks), but we were unable to sufficiently recreate the website using HTML and CSS in time.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
A much more robust presentation of the FAQ section of the original site, with more concise answers and more nicely organized text.
What we learned
The process of porting a front end design, even detailed, to an actual website is time-consuming and should be considered each step of the design process rather than as a footnote.
What's next for Better Klein Hacks Website
If we were to continue with this project in the future, we would want to fully incorporate the design into a proper website that could be used as a viable alternative to the current klein hacks website.
