Bike lane obstruction detection using openCV
Tweeting car's location and licence plate number
Bike lanes get super crowded in Toronto -- on some mornings, the number of bikers and drivers IS THE SAME. Cars in bike lanes and other obstacles do not help either. People do not have access to this data, and so they cannot avoid uncomfortable or even dangerous bike lanes.
What it does
Pressure sensors in bike lanes track bike traffic and update the data real-time on a map. Phones mounted on bike handlebars automatically detect blocked bike lanes, and the obstructions are also displayed. Using all the data, the app picks out the optimized route given a starting point and a destination.
When a car is detected in a bike lane, the police are also automatically tweeted with the car's location and license plate number.
