Inspiration

Pulse of the Planet was born from a simple question: what if we could feel the heartbeat of Earth by walking through its cultures in a few minutes? I wanted to celebrate traditional fashion, everyday grace, and iconic landmarks in one flowing, musical journey that feels like a love letter to humanity.

What it does

The film takes viewers on a globe-spanning walk through Pyramids, Taj Mahal, Mount Fuji, Eiffel Tower, Sheikh Zayed Mosque, Great Wall, and more—each scene featuring models in traditional attire. The music and visuals together create a sense of one shared rhythm, showing how different cultures can feel distinct yet deeply connected.

How we built it

I wrote and refined the concept with the help of AI brainstorming tools, then paired it with an original AI-generated track to set the emotional tempo. Using AI video and image tools (Kling/Veo-style generators and Midjourney/OpenArt) I created location-specific fashion scenes, then stitched, graded, and paced everything in an editor to feel like one continuous cinematic journey.

Challenges we ran into

Balancing respect and aesthetics was the hardest part: I had to avoid turning cultures into costumes while still staying stylized and cinematic. Technically, getting AI models to honor details like fabric, patterns, and landmarks without distortion or bias required many prompt iterations and careful shot selection.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I’m proud that the video feels like a cohesive global runway rather than a random montage. Viewers have told me it made them feel both proud of where they’re from and curious about everywhere else—that sense of shared pride and curiosity is the biggest win.

What we learned

I learned how powerful AI can be as a cultural lens when used thoughtfully—and how important it is to keep human intention, research, and sensitivity at the center. I also discovered a visual language for moving between countries in seconds while still letting each place breathe emotionally.

What's next for Pulse of the Planet

Next, I want to expand Pulse of the Planet into a series that dives deeper into individual regions and stories behind specific garments and rituals. I’d also love to collaborate with real designers, dancers, and local artists so future versions blend AI imagination with on-the-ground voices.
