What it does

Allow users to upload a picture of them sharing their culture and their traditions, along with a caption, location and a prompt. ​They can upload the photos linked to one of the prompts, which encourage a variety of photos. Users will then be able to filter posts by the prompts.​ There is a featured celebration every day and users will be able to see some information about the celebration along with posts that have tagged the celebration​.

BeTogether tackles the issue of alienation/othering of cultures that goes hand in hand with wider problems of xenophobia and nationalism. These biases have been shown to contribute to the lack of progress in certain social issues (notably those concerning human rights legislation). BeTogether encourages casual representation and intercultural celebration of events around the globe​, in hopes of tackling human rights issues at its roots.
