Inspiration

I saw the explosion of online betting platforms and wanted to incorporate the Bitcoin market with many of the different types of sports betting happening today.

What it does

BitcoinBets allows users to bet on daily Bitcoin price moves, volatility and volume metrics

How we built it

I asked my son what tool I should try and he suggested Bolt. The only time I tried coding was in the 1980s using punch cards the the Pascal programming language. I was not very good so I focused my entire career on the business side of technology. I made a Bolt account and started asking it to build various functionality.

Challenges we ran into

The preview function in Bolt did not work after most of my prompts. I had to roll back changes and then add more until each piece of added functionality worked. I do not know how to use GitHub or any other of the needed platforms.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The fact that could create anything that looks like a real application was fun.

What we learned

I learned about the power of AI development tools. Quite amazing. It looks like what used to take my teams months to build and test can now be done in a matter of hours. I wish we had these tools when my development teams were delivering products. Quite amazing.

What's next for BitcoinBets

BitcoinBets could turn into a full wagering platform based on Bitcoin metrics. Adding the ability to invite friends and then bet with them (against them) would be fun. We would need to create easy wallet integration as well as figuring out how to assign odds to different bets.
