Inspiration

As a student diving into the world of web development, I was inspired to create a clean, professional, and personal space on the internet. I wanted a platform to showcase my projects, skills, and journey as I learn and grow. This portfolio is my digital handshake—a way to introduce myself to the world, potential collaborators, and future employers.

What it does

My portfolio website acts as my interactive resume. It introduces who I am, displays the projects I've built, lists the technical skills I'm developing, and provides easy ways to get in touch with me. It's a central hub that represents my personal brand and my passion for building things for the web.

How we built it

I built this site from the ground up to solidify my understanding of core web technologies.

· HTML provides the basic structure and content. · CSS is used for the custom styling, layout, and animations to give it a unique look and feel. · Bootstrap helped me create a responsive and mobile-friendly layout quickly, ensuring it looks great on all devices. · A little bit of JavaScript was added for interactive elements, like smooth scrolling and making the navigation menu responsive.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was getting the layout perfectly responsive. Making sure that elements rearranged themselves nicely on different screen sizes, especially on mobile devices, was a great learning experience. I also spent time fine-tuning the CSS to get the visual design just how I imagined it, which taught me a lot about debugging and the importance of details.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm incredibly proud that I took a concept from a blank text editor to a fully functional website live on the internet! Successfully deploying the site using GitHub Pages was a major milestone. I'm also proud of the clean and modern design I achieved by combining my own CSS with Bootstrap, creating a portfolio that I feel truly represents me.

What we learned

This project was a huge practical lesson. It deepened my hands-on understanding of how HTML, CSS, and JavaScript work together. I became much more comfortable with Bootstrap's grid system and component classes. Most importantly, I learned the complete workflow of building, testing, and deploying a static website.

What's next for Best Igbekele - My Portfolio

A portfolio is never truly finished! As I continue my journey as a student and developer, I plan to:

· Continuously update it with new projects and skills as I learn them. · Enhance the UI/UX by adding more dynamic features, potentially with a JavaScript framework like React. · Start blogging about my learning experiences and the challenges I overcome, right here on the site.
