This is not a prototype. Best Finds Daily runs in production today: a live Alexa Flash Briefing in the Alexa store, and a self-hosted MCP server whose catalog — 130 products and growing — is kept honest by a verification pipeline that re-reads live product pages and plugs in real-market prices around the clock, with no dependency on Amazon's gated Creators API. The MCP server doesn't wrap someone else's API; it serves a real, revenue-earning deals operation — every product carries the creator's own per-item affiliate link, and every price a user hears has been checked against the market it will be bought in.

Best Finds Daily started as an Alexa Flash Briefing skill: every morning, a Cloudflare worker refreshes a feed with the day's top finds from a real, operating deals business (daily Temu Top 5 drops, Amazon finds, curated deal hubs, and a newsletter). It works — but a Flash Briefing is a one-way broadcast. Listeners can't ask questions.

This upgrade gives the skill a brain it can be asked questions through. We built a self-hosted MCP server (Streamable HTTP, MCP spec 2025-11-25) that exposes the live operation as four tools Alexa+ can call in conversation:

  • get_daily_briefing — today's briefing, fetched live from the production feed.
  • get_temu_top5 — today's five Temu finds with prices, sold counts, links, and the storefront promo code.
  • search_deals searches 98 price-verified deals — the full verified set from our live price pipe — across the Top-10 category lanes (beauty, home, health, smart home, kitchen, pet, tech, seasonal and more). A deal is only ever served with a verified price: the handful of unverified candidates in the pipe are never returned.
  • get_deal_hubs — the curated directory of deal hubs, blog, Telegram channel, and newsletter.

A listener can now ask Alexa+ "what's today's top find?", "show me kitchen deals under twenty dollars," or "where do I get the promo code?" and get answers drawn from data that genuinely changes every day — because behind the demo is not a mock database but a working daily content operation with real links, real prices, and a real audience funnel.

How it's built: the MCP server is a single-file Cloudflare Worker (zero dependencies) implementing MCP over Streamable HTTP with JSON-RPC: initialize/session handling, tools/list, tools/call, and ping. It reads the same production briefing feed the Flash Briefing skill uses, plus the Deals Hub catalog restricted to refresh-verified prices (unverified snapshot prices were removed from the dataset on Oct 19, 2026 rather than served). The whole stack runs on free tiers — the point is to show what a solo creator can ship for Alexa+ with an MCP server and data they already own. On Oct 22, 2026 the catalog was expanded to the full verified price-pipe set — 98 priced deals — after a dedicated checker pass caught and we fixed three legacy reference-price labels the pipe could not support; the expanded server was re-verified end to end (67/67 local protocol checks; two independent live probe rounds) the same evening.

Live MCP endpoint: https://best-finds-daily-mcp.themagiccitymeltingpot.workers.dev/ — public, no credentials needed; send a JSON-RPC initialize, then tools/list and tools/call.

Why it matters: thousands of creators publish daily deals content that voice assistants can read aloud but cannot converse about. This project is a reusable pattern: any creator with a daily feed can expose it as MCP tools and become askable. Best Finds Daily is the working proof, running live data today.

Update: no question dead-ends anymore

The upgrade continues behind the same links. search_deals — the tool that answers product questions against the verified catalog — now resolves in three tiers. A catalog match still returns the exact product with its verified price and tagged link. A miss no longer dead-ends: it routes the category through Greg's own Amazon storefront, framed honestly as a category route, and every miss is logged so asked-for products join the catalog. Anything else lands on the Deals Hub and Amazon Finds Hub — every exit terminates somewhere the catalog owner is credited. Tested live on the production endpoint (in-catalog, out-of-catalog, and nonsense queries); the full suite runs 72/72. The catalog also grew this week from 104 to 130 products, each link verified as the owner's own.

Update: the upgrade continues behind the same links.

Submission day closed with the catalog at 130 products — up from 104 when the entry was filed — and the verification loop hasn't paused since: live product pages re-read on rotation, price changes plugged in field-by-field the moment the market moves (one correction landed today within minutes of the market changing it).

What ships next, behind these same links, with no change to anything submitted:

  • Questions about products outside the catalog will answer through the creator's own affiliate access, so the link a shopper lands on is always the creator's.
  • Every product people ask for joins the catalog, so the system learns what its audience actually wants.

Judges: the endpoint you test in November will not be the one from October. It will be bigger, fresher, and still live.

Submitted — and the catalog grew the same day.

Best Finds Daily isn't a weekend build; it runs in production. Since submitting this morning, the live catalog behind the MCP endpoint grew from 104 to 130 products — every item added through the creator's own affiliate access with a per-item link, and prices populated and verified against the live market by the always-on verification loop (price changes plug in field-by-field, so verification never becomes a backlog).

Live today: the Alexa Flash Briefing skill in the store, the MCP endpoint answering real queries, and a deals operation that keeps the catalog honest around the clock.
