As a team we decided to focus on features that we can implement on the Shades app itself, that prioritizes the user experience and caters to our target audience. We tried to tackle issues that genZ is passionate about and facing right now. For example battling: Mental Health/Trigger Warnings Misinformation/False/Harmful Information. We used Figma to design our features, as we don't have the bandwidth to code the actual Shades application. To overcome this barrier, we learned that Figma allowed us to create Flows and Interactions with its Prototype feature to execute our features interactively. We all were new at using Figma, so we all learned how to use and create Frames that act as screens for the application. We also learned how to use the Design feature to design out features as Shades designed their interface aesthetic. The most useful and interesting part of learning Figma was creating interactive buttons, dropdowns, connecting screens and other functions using Figmas Prototype feature. We had to learn how to use Figma from scratch, it was pretty hard to understand how to use Frames and what they were, also how to use the Prototype features in Figma. But we used youtube tutorials and articles on google to learn how to use certain features. I think as a whole the way we prioritized Shades' purpose and its brand, while targeting its target audience (GenZ) was something we are proud of. In this day and age there are a lot of sensitive topics, and use of social media, but by adding the features we proposed today will help create a healthier environment online.
