Inspiration
Then link tree acquired Bento.me and then shut it down. I had a full-blown QR code printed on my T-shirt for my Bento link. That gave me an idea of building it on my own. Slowly as I started talking to people who are my target audience, I realized that they need a full-blown creator tool rather than just a bio. That's what started this project.
What it does
It helps creators to monetize their audience and reach by selling digital products and charging for their consultancy services. Communities, all in one place. At the same time it helps them grow their reach by automating social media DMs and post-publishing directly via MCP, all in one platform.
How we built it
I built it using Codex. I have been at it for a week or two now and that's how I built it: just by talking to Codex.
Challenges we ran into
The major challenge was stopping it from over-engineering things and rather than just shipping the product that works, but finally I was able to make it happen.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
This is my first app that I have built to a production scale all alone. That's what I'm proud of.
What we learned
I honestly learned a lot about Cloudflare, Supabase, and things that I have used in the projects. Again as I said, it's my first time doing it all solo so yeah, it helped me a lot.
What's next for Bento.Surf
I'm going to launch this once I get approval from Meta for the app review and start monetizing this.
What Bento can do through WebMCP Agents can now:
- Understand the current page and signed-in workspace.
- Read products, bookings, social posts, analytics, pages, blocks, integrations, Auto-DMs, settings, earnings, and admin data.
- Navigate between Bento workspaces.
- Operate Store, Calendar, Community, Scheduler, Insights, and Auto-DM workflows.
- Perform mutations only after Bento shows an approval dialog.
- Use public tools such as the UTM builder, media downloaders, transcription, AI-writing, and image tools.
- Access only tools relevant to the currently visible page and authenticated user.
