Inspiration
I built the app to help BENRAYS company with its stock record keeping. Rather than doing it manually and at the risk of losing pages of the records, it is better to have an app for record keeping that is connected to a cloud storage provider. It is safe and the company won't worry about losing their files in 50 years because it is stored in the cloud.
What it does
It allows the user to record the date a particular product in BENRAYS company came in, how many were sold out, and the remaining (balance). It also has space that allows an employee that took the record of the day to sign, for reference purposes.
How we built it
It was built from Power apps, canvas app in tablet mode. It has data source from Excel. It also has functions like search, edit and add product button.
Challenges we ran into
It was on setting up formulas like navigation to a new screen, and to allow the buttons, icons to perform an action when clicked. Also, the gallery set up was a bit of a task.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am proud that the app is working because I didn't know anything about building apps. I hadn't thought that I could develop the app to the extent that it can actually keep records.
What we learned
I learnt how to write navigation to next screen formula, and how to use the tools in canvas app to create a beautiful design of my work.
What's next for BENRAYS (STOCK)
Yeah, it is to build the app in a way that the table can perform calculations like calculating the balance automatically. Also, adding features like e-invoice for customers and so on.
