Benjamin vs. The Narrator

Inspiration

Inspired by personal encounter with narrator voice inside my head that wouldn't leave until I finish the movie.

What it does

The video serves as both trailer/advertisement/showcase/educational video for my course on making AI short-films. Why not make an AI short-film about a guy making an AI short-film?

How I built it

Script: Google Docs Shots: Nano Banana through Weavy, Midjourney Videos: Google Flow Veo3.1 Voice: ElevenLabs Music: Suno + Epidemic Sound SFX: ElevenLabs + Epidemic Sound Montage: Adobe Premiere Pro Upscaling: Magnific + Topaz Video

Challenges I ran into

1. Changed initial script 5 times during the process of creation to navigate limitations.
2. First-last frame in Veo 3.1 often gives inconsistent last frame, hard to proceed with next shots.
3. Scene extension steadily ruins quality and character consistency with every extension.
4. Screen tracking without tracking marks is a real pain, had to ask for motion designer help for these shots.
5. Character acting.

It makes people smile :)

What I learned

Having fun during creation process is crucial.
