Inspiration
Many English speaking people feel as though they aren't welcomed in Quebec, if French is not their first language. They believe that they do not have as many opportunities to form friendships with francophones, due to this language barrier.
What it does
The web-app allows Anglophones to meet Francophones through volunteer opportunities at hospitals and seniors homes in their area. This gives them the opportunity to form these connections while giving back to the community and benefiting the healthcare system.
How we built it
We built it using Javascript, html and css.
Challenges we ran into
It was difficult to the decide what project we all wanted to focus on, so we spent some time brainstorming until we found an idea we all wanted to pursue.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud that we were able to complete the web-app we set out to create.
What we learned
We learned about different frontend frameworks while working on the app.
What's next for bénévol.we
More features could be implemented that allow the app to be scaled up, in order to impact more people.
