Inspiration

Slack communication inside a team is sometimes overwhelming. This bot helps to distil and personalize the most relevant information for you and make your Slack experience more pleasant.

What it does

The bot can summarize papers and send customized information distilled from a shared channel based on the messages that have been sent and the preferences of a specific user.

How we built it

We combine the Slack, OpenAI, PaperQA APIs to create a bot App that can be added to any Slack channel.

Challenges we ran into

Using Slack API is not straightforward, and many small technical details can break the app.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The bot is functional and able to send customized information to specific users, apart from summarizing new messages in channels.

How to create a Slack bot as an app and merge it with different APIs and functionalities.
