We are team #30. Our team name is found 404. One team member, Kanykei had a family emergency and isn't able to join our team on devpost.
Inspiration
There currently is no centralized place for Information Technology students to find volunteering opportunities with small businesses, churches and students.
What it does
It provides a forum to connect volunteer opportunities with IT students. It also mints NFT's to track completing of tasks with Verbwire to the company wallet.
How we built it
We used flask and and styles the HTML with bootstrap and some CSS. We also implemented Verbwire with python.
Challenges we ran into
Getting the routes to work was difficult as we are new to flask. We eventually got it to work but if we had more experience it could have been done much quicker.
One of our groupmembers also had a family emergency so we had two divide the work between 2 members instead of 3 and none of us had done a hackathon before.
Aside from that the Verbwire and the database weren't completely implemented. If we had more time they could have been.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Learning flask more for sure for us as we are both brand new to it. Jeffrey likes verbwire and wants to implement it in the future.
What we learned
We learned how to use git and manage branches and collaborate together. Our group also got a lot of experience with flask stated previously.
What's next for BeIT.tech
We'll be fixing the Verbwire and database and then it's off to the races!
