Inspiration

My inspiration comes from the fact that everywhere in the world, there's always someone—in a classroom, in a company, in a group—who feels excluded for whatever reason because they look different or are different from the rest. Ultimately, we're all equal and we all want the same thing; to feel loved.

What it does

I spent a long time searching for a piece of music that conveys exactly the right feeling, emotion, and atmosphere—something that truly aligns with what I want to convey with the film. I hope viewers can feel the character's emotions and struggles in live, and that he experience that sometimes happiness comes naturally when you meet someone who's been through the same thing and accepts you for who you are.

How we built it

I used OpenArt to create the AI ​​images and videos. For the images, I used Nano Banana because it can generate consistent characters within images. For the image-to-video conversion, I used AI models Kling, SeeDance, and Hailuo. Artlist was used for the music track. CapCut was used to stitch together all the separate videos, the music track and credits, the text, and the video thumbnails.

Challenges we ran into

Properly prompting the videos was the most challenging part. Ultimately, you have a vision for a scene, and then you have to fine-tune your prompts to get the details right. A lot of attention went into getting this right, as AI can sometimes produce strange actions and do things slightly differently than what you envision.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm proud of the emotion the film and the characters convey. The music, in particular, elevates the animation even more. Coming up with a strong story was also quite difficult, but it is very important for such a short film and I think turned out great.

What we learned

Taking the time to create a good story is crucial. It's also crucial to create the correct opening frame for each scene, then create a video of each image with a detailed prompt so the AI ​​knows exactly how the scene should look. ChatGPT can help come up with the prompts for the images and videos
