Behind the Blitz: A Dive into AI Filmmaking

This is the technical breakdown behind "Bucket List Blitz"—our experimental short film that pushed the limits of generative video and character consistency. More than just a film, this project was a full-scale stress test of an integrated AI workflow.

In this behind-the-scenes look, we reveal the entire pipeline, from the initial "Think Tank" to the final digital polish.

Phase 1: The 'Think Tank' & Custom Pipeline

Ideation & Scripting: How Google Gemini acted as the creative partner, evolving simple concepts into detailed shot lists and refining the narrative structure.

Prompt Generator: We detail building a custom Flux prompt generator inside Gemini—turning simple thoughts into the complex, detailed language required by the models for high-fidelity results.

Custom Character Training: The essential steps for training a custom model for the main likeness to achieve consistency across 300+ shots.

Phase 2: Integrated Production Workflow

ComfyUI Automation: A look at the automated pipeline that managed prompt ingestion, initial image generation, automatic upscaling, and face detailer application for a locked-in custom likeness.

Cinematography with AI: Using Flux Kontext to generate multiple camera angles for every scene, giving the control of a traditional cinematographer.

Split-Tool Approach: Treating AI tools like a "film truck" of specialized cameras: Google VEO for dialogue scenes and Hailuo and Kling for high-action B-roll and world-building.

Phase 3: Post-Production & Polish

Custom Score Generation: Leveraging Gemini to create thematic lyrics and then feeding them into SUNO for unique, custom-made music tracks.

The Final Touches: The crucial role of frame-by-frame digital painting in Photoshop for cleanup, and Topaz Video for the final upscale and polish that gave the film its photorealistic edge.

Takeaway We share the profound lesson learned: the art of the pivot. The sheer volume of generation—over 1,000 images and 310 video renders—tells the true story of persistence and the necessity of flexibility when building a complex AI narrative.
