Problem statement

Create an application that will help people be environmentally sustained.

Research background

Even though climate change and other environmental problems might seem irreversible, every little action that people do will avoid at least future temperature raises, so it isn't late to start making actions.

Purpose

My goal was to build an application that would engage lots of people to be more sustainable. Some of the factors that will help engage people is having a reward system (token) and having the option for friends to join on your journey to become more sustainable.

Solution Concept:

It will spread more awareness to people as a social media is more likely to reach more people of different diverse backgrounds and ages.

Produt

This product is a first step for an online base. There aren't any many similar applications as such, and BeGreen is the first one to take the initiative.

Target Audience

It serves everyone, but especially the younger generation since they are the biggest audience to be using social media platforms.

Impact

I am envisioning that lots of people will start using this app, even if it is just 5 minutes everyday. For one small action done by many can make a big impact.

Next Steps

Finish the other components of this app, and have more resources available within this app such as more features like letting people join groups/clubs within the app creating more connections.

Conclusion

By doing this app, I have learned how it is much harder to keep an audience engaged in your application since you need to implement many features to make the app stand out and be more interesting out of all the hundreds of other existing apps.

My Motivation for this app is BeReal, for this app took the internet by storm, but I wanted to take this inspiration and create a more impactful and sustainable application. I learned how to run servers with this app, and some troubles I ran into were that I had to spends hours setting up my computer for Node JS because of some errors.
