Inspiration
We saw that on Simplicity AI github repo examples there was not a DJango example, so we build an image with Docker demonstrating this.
What it does
DJango API Service that removes the background from an image passed using base64.
How we built it
We used Python, Docker, and some Javascript for the frontend demo as well. Please refer to our github repository /results folder for screenshots of the results achieved.
Challenges we ran into
No guide on how to initially setup our DJango image for Simplicy AI. But it is not different from regular Docker images process so that is actually nice.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We compressed and hardened our image using the Simplicity AI online tools.
What we learned
How use the simplicity AI tools to harden images and make them lighter for production use.
What's next for simai-python
We would like to deploy this project on an online service, serverless of preference in order to run it for everyone that might need it.
