Inspiration

StoryTimeAI was inspired by the desire to create personalized and engaging experiences for children during bedtime. I aimed to leverage AI to generate custom storybooks tailored to individual children's lives. Reading is, firstly, critical for a child's development, and this web app encourages parents to spend time reading with their kids. Secondly, it allows for any child to see themselves represented in a storybook, which is paramount to building their confidence.

What it does

StoryTimeAI utilizes AI to write a story given an adult's prompt that can be customized based on a child's age and appearance.

How I built it

I built StoryTimeAI with ReactJS, by integrating the Google Gemini API to generate a text story based on a prompt, as well as using OpenAI's Image generation API to generate images based on the story.
