Inspiration

Usually when computer science is taught in schools, we tend to start with "write your own python program", we don't get to truly appreciate the advancements that led to that point of writing computer programs, algorithims, and languages like Python. In the important discussions around getting more students into Computer Science, the idea of forming connections with the subject and understanding it's benefit and how it came about is usually missed. For example, you can't appreciate what an IDE does if you don't look at how we got to IDEs, how it started, what were the beginning steps, etc.

What it does

Bedayat or Beginnings in Arabic, is a 3D interactive adventure game with missions that explore crucial starting concepts that led to the current advancements in computer science. This approach will help students form a connection to the timeline of innovation, and truly appreciate the tools we have now by understanding the past and how each innovate idea led to the next.

How we built it

This 3D game is built using Unity in C#.
