What it does

Our Bed provides comfort to all hackers. Our motto is "Comfy space for a comfy mind". Hacking takes time, you might as well be cozy and innovative with your work space! You can snuggle up under quilts, eat food, and laugh with your friends on it!

How we built it

We made multiple trips around the school to gather our gear. We took 6 padded chairs from the library, then searched for 2 padded blue benches. We then pushed the furniture into our corner in the cafeteria and got to building. We put 2 blankets on top of the cushion to serve as extra padding like a mattress would do. We then used the other 2 blankets to cover up when we got cold. Next we added pillows to support our necks and shield them from the hard wood of the chairs. Next, we lied down and got cozy. We provided food and entertainment to enhance our Bed experience.

Challenges we ran into We had a shortage of blankets, pillows, and snacks unfortunately. Thankfully we thought of using our outside sources to provide supplies. A boyfriend brought multiple quilts, blankets, and snacks for our well being during the hackathon. Another challenge was people saying our hack wasn't legitimate. We would argue by saying you must be comfortable while doing work for extensive hours, and we can help hackers all around the world create a healthy hacking space.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We slept very well despite dubstep blasting through the cafeteria. We did not listen to negative comments as this is a hack to help hackers.

What we learned

If you get creative, anything is possible. Don't give up if you can't follow along with the crowd. Be unconventional and hack the system in your own way.

What's next for Bed (life hack)

Helping hackers take care of themselves! Maybe they can use our techniques at other hackathons!
