Inspiration

The project was inspired by the concept of constant transformation and self-discovery. Im wanted to explore the journey of a person moving through darkness, light, and awareness, reflecting the eternal cycle of birth, destruction, and renewal. The idea was to merge music, AI, and visual storytelling into a cohesive narrative of becoming.

What it does

"Becoming" immerses the viewer in a multisensory experience of transformation. The video depicts several different worlds in which transformation occurs. It contains a multitude of intertwining symbols. I want everyone to discover the meaning of this video in their own way.

How we built it

We began by writing lyrics reflecting themes of change and introspection. The story was structured like a computer game, with scenes appearing between each playthrough to connect the events. Using the SUNO neural network, the lyrics were converted into music. The visuals were created entirely in SORA 2, and editing, color correction, and transitions were done in CAPCUT PC.

Challenges we ran into

One of the challenges was translating abstract emotional concepts into music and visual imagery while maintaining their integrity. Aligning the AI-generated audio and video sequences with the intended narrative required several iterations, especially considering I had to work with a character capable of shape-shifting within the same concept. Also, the lack of the ability to create an opening image for the subsequent video sequence (at the time of the video's creation, COPA 2 was still very poor at creating image-to-video sequences—only video from text)

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Seamless integration of SUNO and SORA 2 allowed us to produce a unique artistic expression that blurs the lines between human creativity and AI assistance.

What we learned

We learned how to effectively guide AI tools to reflect nuanced emotions and philosophical themes. The project taught us the importance of iteration, attention to detail, and the balance between AI automation and human creative oversight.

What's next for Becoming

I'm planning a second musical film called "Residence," which explores the theme of codependency in relationships. It will feature two consecutive characters (it's already in development).
