Inspiration

The inspiration for "Bech Dim" came from recognizing the need for a platform that simplifies the process of buying and selling second-hand products. The idea was to create a user-friendly web application that connects buyers and sellers in a convenient and efficient way.

What it does

"Bech Dim" is a web application designed to facilitate the buying and selling of second-hand products. Users can create accounts, list items they want to sell, browse listings, and contact sellers directly through the platform. The application provides a secure environment for transactions, making it easier for people to find affordable, quality used items and for sellers to reach a broader audience.

How we built it

We build "Bech Dim" using .NET Core Web API in the backend and NextJS/ReactJS in the frontend. We used Figma to design the overall looks and flow of the web app and then converted the design to code.

Challenges we ran into

During the development of "Bech Dim," we faced several challenges. Since, it was our first time building web APIs using .NET Core; we ran into a couple of networking issues and integrating the backend and frontend together.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of several accomplishments with "Bech Dim." We got to learn about networking on both client and server side. We also had the opportunity to explore new technologies along the way.

What we learned

We learned about the .NET Core technology; its pros and cons. We got to explore more about the React/NextJS ecosystem and its pros and cons. We also had to learn about networking and database issues that happened along the way.

What's next for Bech Dim

There are plenty of improvements that can be made on "Bech Dim". Some of which are:

  1. Integrating OTP provider for verification and reducing spams
  2. Integrating Payment gateway to reduce and prevent scams.
  3. Integrating AR technology to enable users to view the product they are buying in the augmented world.
