What it does

Becapa makes capability discovery easy. BeCapa makes secure sharing of enterprise developed skills secure and easy. It's your private app store for the enterprise.

How we built it

BeCapa was built with Codex.

Challenges we ran into

Speed. Once the problem was identified. It was running into speed boundaries at which point we've moved to parallel agent execution. Beyond development challenges, it's the cold start problem with starting a capabilities marketplace. You have none to start with, so where do we start? Then it's a marketing and acquisition problem. How do we get users? You can build something amazing, but if people don't know it exists, you have provided value to nobody but yourself.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

It's incredible to experience how easy tools, skills, and workflows are to install on any machine across all of your agents. I don't even use a companies docs for MCP tool installs anymore. I tell my agent to publish X in BeCapa and then I install the new capability using BeCapa. The workflow is insanely smooth. Not a single config file or text edit required by the user.

What we learned

Third party MCP servers, skills, and Ai capabilities should be a thing. If a company is too slow to develop for AI, why can't third parties do it on their behalf? To close the gap the way software hackers closed the gap decades ago until vendors caught up with their own tools. One reason is Apache licensing. Another is "reselling" of API laws that need clarity around is an MCP wrapper or business wrapper around an existing companies API's actually a violation of the API license? TBD...Nobody has challenged these yet.

What's next for BeCapa

We are growing our capabilities. We want more users, but we see the largest opportunity within the enteprrise to deploy their own private capabilities stores. We also see a great opportunity for third party publishers to run ahead of companies that aren't developing for Ai and monetize their agent capabilities. BeCapa will push the "Earn" portion of our offering to attract those third party developers.
