BeaverBrains

Inspiration

Our inspiration for the project was our personal experience trying to find people to study and compare notes with. It can be hard, especially for those who are online to try and find people to help with your school would. This is what BeaverBrains tries to solve, we want to be able to help people connect and learn together.

What it does

The app gets people in contact who are in the same classes and similar majors. This not only helps you meet people, but helps you with assignments and exams as well as you get to know one another more.

How we built it

We built it using mongodb as our database of students, node for the backend, express and axios for api requests, and finally vite and React for the front-end.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge we ran into was trying to get the back-end and front-end to talk to each other, there was something wrong with one of the servers that wasn't wanting to communicate.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are very proud of the fact that we finished the project and got a proof of concept done!

What we learned

We learned a lot about Mongodb and how to connect front and backends. We also learned a great amount of patience.

What's next for BeaverBrains

Next we are going to implement the actually swipe right swipe left feature of the app that will let people naturally match if they are interested with each other.
