Inspiration

Our team was inspired by the lack of inclusivity and accessibility in the beauty industry for people with disabilities. We saw an opportunity to create a platform that would connect the industry with this underserved market and help co-create beauty products and services that were truly inclusive.

What it does

Our application connects the beauty industry with people with disabilities to co-create inclusive beauty products and services. The app allows companies to collaborate with disabled individuals and create products that meet their unique needs, while also promoting diversity and inclusion in the industry.

How it was built

Our team used a user-centered design approach to build the application. We conducted extensive research to understand the needs and preferences of people with disabilities, and used this information to inform the app's design and features. We built the app using figma and rigorously tested it to ensure it was accessible and user-friendly for people with different types of disabilities.

Challenges ran into

One of the biggest challenges we faced was ensuring that the app was truly accessible and inclusive for people with a wide range of disabilities. We had to consider factors like different types of assistive technologies, various sensory impairments, and mobility limitations. We worked closely with people with disabilities to get their feedback and address any issues that arose.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud to have created a platform that promotes diversity and inclusion in the beauty industry, and that has the potential to positively impact the lives of millions of people with disabilities. We're also proud of the user-centered design approach we used, which allowed us to build an app that truly meets the needs of its users.

What was learned

Throughout the development process, we learned a great deal about the challenges that people with disabilities face in the beauty industry, and about the importance of co-creation and collaboration in creating truly inclusive products and services. We also learned a lot about the different types of assistive technologies and accommodations that are available, and how to ensure that the app is accessible to the widest possible range of users.
