Inspiration
Time is short. However, with BPM, it's short and sweet!
What it does
We built a timer which helps tasks to be more enjoyable with our web-app which plays your favourite songs base on your mood. It creates a playlist of the perfect time of your task.
How we built it
We used a vector embedding model which finds similar song to a keyword and used a greedy algorithm to solve the knapsack problem of creating a playlist for the specified time.
Challenges we ran into
Finding datasets and how to matching the keyword to fitting songs.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We managed to create a working product with a very good playlist duration which matches the timer duration. We also achieved working Spotify integration!
What we learned
We learn to create an API to connect the backend to the frontend via a Python API, we also learnt how to create a functioning frontend via ReactJS.
What's next for Beats per minute
Optimising the keyword to solve the pipeline.
