Inspiration
During Bom's childhood, he was addicted to Tap Titans; an extremely addictive monster-killing mobile game. As we explored avenues of problems, we realized a crucial problem globally is the lack of gym motivation people have. We now set our adventure to find an innovative solution to this problem.
What it does
BeatHero is a mobile game app where users damage monsters based on their heart rate and is meant to be running in the background while one is gyming. The heartbeat monitoring is entirely done by syncing the app with an Apple watch or other type of watch with Bluetooth. The game is very progressive and the character can be upgraded to have enhanced perks. With every monster kill, users gain gold which can be exchanged for various IRL rewards which gives a huge incentive for users to work out to boost their heart rate in order to kill monsters extremely efficiently and gain more rewards. Our primary goal is to transform the way people perceive and engage with fitness. By infusing excitement and entertainment into the workout.
Challenges we ran into
Having to build an app in an extremely short period of time is almost impossible. We are glad we are able to deliver a product on time.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
In only 24 hours (including sleep), we managed to create a ready-made app that has high potential for scalability and impact on fitness enthusiast.
What we learned
Working with people with various different skills, we learnt to collaborate with people that has different skills and specialization in order to create a final product that we believe could innovate the fitness industry.
What's next for BeatHero
BeatHero aims to continue to innovate in hopes of one day making this app a reality and allows exercise to be fun and accessible to all.
