Inspiration
With busy schedules and hustle culture being popular, many people forget the importance of sleeping. There are also people who have trouble falling asleep, due to insomnia or other issues. Bearly Awake was created to help those build a better routine for a better bed time.
What it does
Bearly Awake helps users build a routine to help them go to bed. It includes a checklist for users to add task that would help them before bedtime, such as turning off your phone at a certain time, remembering to play relaxing music, or even noting when to get ready for bed. It also includes an alarm for those who sleeping to help them wake up. There is a music page that allows users to create a playlist with songs that helps them fall asleep.
How we built it
It was built using Figma
Challenges we ran into
It was difficult creating the music and alarm page. The difficult part was making it look realistic, so I took a lot of inspiration from apps that I use to create the pages.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I was proud with how the music page turned out. Although there isn't much on that page, it was the longest one to create, mainly because of the placement of the common features that music apps have. I wanted to create an identical interface, where users would easily know how to navigate it.
What we learned
After watching the UI: From Eyes To Mind workshop, I learned the importance of color in UI design and what colors to use to help convey a certain mood. The color blue was shown to be a calming and relaxing color, so I made sure to have it throughout the app
What's next for Bearly Awake
Adding more features to better assist users for getting a proper amount of sleep
