Inspiration
My inspiration for this project came from the fact that I recruited an electronics hobbyist who has a lot of spare parts lying around his shop and we wanted to use some of them.
What it does
This is a burglar alarm that goes off when there is an intruder in your house.
How we built it
We used an Arduino 2560 for the electronics and Flutter for the mobile app.
Challenges we ran into
As it was our first hackathon, there were many challenges that we ran into. The most detrimental of such is the fact that we did not realize how mentally exhausting pulling an all-nighter is until 6AM. Another issue that we ran into is the fact that we planned on only using the Arduino for prototyping and using a STM32 for the final product, but we were having too many difficulties setting up the development environment for the STM32. Another huge problem is the fact that there are not any Arduino libraries that we were able to use for BLE modules.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that we got significant progress on the mobile app.
What we learned
One valuable lesson we learned is to always plan ahead and be ready for any obstacle that will get thrown at you.
What's next for Beanz Security
What's next for us is to continue working on our product and to secure Seed funding from an investor.
