Our journey began with listening. After conducting interviews to better understand the needs of individuals going through rehabilitation, we took a thoughtful walk near a park — and something unexpected sparked an idea. We noticed an exercise corner tucked away, and it reminded us how accessible fitness equipment can transform lives. That moment inspired us to integrate a Commercial Elliptical Cross Trainer into a tricycle design.
As someone who frequents the gym, I also recognized the importance of wrist grips — a small feature with a big impact on stability and safety. By blending our personal experiences with real community insights, we envisioned a tricycle that not only supports mobility, but also aids in rehabilitation and confidence-building. We believe this could become a meaningful tool for recovery and empowerment.
Every feature we've included — from the supportive grips to the elliptical mechanism — is carefully designed to enhance the user's safety and promote physical recovery. It’s not just about movement; it’s about moving forward with purpose and security.
While we haven't physically built the prototype yet, we’ve translated our ideas into a detailed hand-drawn sketch. We believe visualizing the concept clearly is a powerful first step in making it real. The drawing brings together all our thoughts in a way that's easy to understand and improve upon.
The biggest challenge? Bringing all our ideas together in a way that made sense. Each of us had different thoughts, concerns, and inspirations — but aligning them into one coherent design took patience, empathy, and lots of discussion.
Despite the challenges, we’re proud that we didn’t give up. We managed to bring all our ideas into a unified vision, and the result reflects our shared commitment to create something that could truly make a difference.
We learned that where there's a will, there's a way. No matter how tough it got or how many times we had to start over, our belief in making a positive impact kept us going. Collaboration, empathy, and determination were our greatest tools.
This is just the beginning. We plan to continue listening, learning, and discovering new needs — and more importantly, offering solutions that can make everyday life easier and more meaningful for those who need it most.
