Inspiration
We were inspired by Buzzfeed quizzes because we felt this engaged the viewer, and used this concept ##in order to inform our viewers about how big their carbon footprint is throughout their daily life.
What it does
Our website lets the viewer take a quiz asking them various questions regarding how much of a carbon footprint they leave throughout their daily lives. Once they finish the quiz, they can ##find out whether or not they lead an environmentally friendly life. If they do not, the viewer is redirected ##to our 'Learn More' tab which informs them of the ways in which the viewer can reduce their ##carbon footprint.
How we built it
We used Replit in order to create the website and collaborate on it, as well as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to design the website.
Challenges we ran into
It is our entire groups first time using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and our first time participating in a ##hackathon, so the whole experience is new to all of us. We were most challenged with creating the ##quiz and how to create different outputs for the end of the quiz.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are extremely proud of our website's extremely user-friendly design. The easy-to-navigate navbar, ##along with our cohesive color scheme and graphics make the website very easy to use.
What we learned
We learned how to create an interactive website that helps to bring awareness to important issues ##such as climate change.
What's next for Be the Change in Climate Change
We hope to include more ways in which people can reduce their carbon footprint along with more ##quizzes.
