Inspiration
It's important that someone going through a life-changing event like cancer has someone to talk to and lean on who has had similar experiences. Otherwise, they may develop a sense of isolation, even from those close to them.
What it does
Our website provides the contact information of survivors to those currently fighting cancer. We hope to create a network of support for those with similar experience.
How we built it
We used HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Challenges we ran into
All of our members started out with no frontend development and backend development experience.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of the final design of the website and its potential to do good.
What we learned
We all learned a lot about these languages as well as how to efficiently look up and implement details of building the website.
What's next for Be the Change
We want to increase the scope of our website to include those affected by addiction and mental health issues. We would like to continue working on the backend using firebase to send users daily inspiring messages from survivors.
