Inspiration

We became fed up with the culture of violence and anger in modern video gaming and sought to make a more pleasant video gaming experience.

What it does

Our game is about being nice to other people, teaching empathy and kindness in a world so devoid of it.

How we built it

Programming is done in Phaser.js, using the javascript language. Art assets were created using Piskel. Original score composed using FL Studio 20.

Challenges we ran into

Our initial game idea was too ambitious, and we cut back drastically to have a workable game within 24 hours.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Original musical score and over 100 original art assets, as well as a tile map framework built from the ground up.

What we learned

Organization skills, realistic goal setting, collaboration, communication, and optimization.

What's next for Be Nice™: The Game

Fixing bugs and polishing the game to be an enjoyable experience in many different platforms.
