Inspiration

Be First was inspired by a simple but important question: why do people sometimes hesitate to help when someone experiences an emergency? Many people want to help but lack the knowledge or confidence to take action. We believe that basic first-aid knowledge should be accessible to everyone, because the first few minutes of an emergency can make a significant difference.

What We Learned

Through this project, we learned more about the importance of first-aid education, user-friendly design, and presenting information in a way that is easy to understand. We also learned how technology can be used not only to solve technical problems but also to raise awareness and encourage positive action in society.

How We Built It

We built Be First as an accessible, web-based first-aid education platform designed to help people learn essential first-aid knowledge through simple, engaging, and easy-to-understand content. Our focus was to create an experience that makes learning less intimidating and encourages users to feel more prepared to respond during emergencies.

Challenges We Faced

One of our main challenges was presenting important first-aid information in a way that is both informative and easy for beginners to understand. We also had to consider how to make the platform engaging without overwhelming users with too much information. These challenges encouraged us to prioritize clarity, accessibility, and a user-centered approach throughout the development process.

What's Next

We hope to continue developing Be First by expanding its educational content and making first-aid learning more interactive and accessible to more people. Our goal is to help build a community where people feel more confident, prepared, and willing to take action when someone needs help.

Because sometimes, being the first to help can make all the difference.
