BC-AIOS Accounting Intelligence Workspace
BC-AIOS is an offline-first, governed accounting workspace that converts business evidence into explainable and auditable accounting decisions while keeping a human professional in control.
The synthetic local demonstration begins with a vague business activity or an invoice image. BC-AIOS registers immutable evidence, performs local Tesseract OCR, preserves field-level provenance, distinguishes invoices from non-recognizable proformas, consults governed knowledge, classifies the transaction, prepares an Accounting Decision Record and balanced Journal Proposal, and runs deterministic validation.
Nothing posts automatically. A human reviewer must approve, reject, or request revision. Approved proposals can then pass through controlled, idempotent posting to immutable Journals and Ledger Entries. BC-AIOS produces a General Ledger, balanced Trial Balance, draft Profit or Loss and Financial Position reports, end-to-end source lineage, and an ordered audit trail.
The project is a synthetic, single-user, local demonstration. It does not claim production readiness, real-client use, autonomous accounting, tax or legal advice, or automatic posting.
How Codex and GPT-5.6 were used
The application was developed through an accelerated, governed Codex workflow using GPT-5.6. Codex helped reconcile the architecture, scaffold the Python modular monolith, implement schemas and SQLite persistence, build OCR and accounting workflows, create the professional browser interface, generate synthetic fixtures, write acceptance evidence, and continuously test and debug the system. Key professional controls—evidence traceability, scope isolation, deterministic validation, human approval, idempotent posting, and honest limitation disclosure—were deliberately preserved throughout development.
Demonstrated workflow
Evidence → OCR and extraction → knowledge consultation → classification → recognition assessment → Accounting Decision Record → Journal Proposal → validation → human decision → controlled posting → ledger → Trial Balance → draft reports → audit history.
