Inspiration

It is based on personal bad experience we had when travelling, we were going from Kampala to Paidha (Uganda) but to get tickets just to book not even buying we had to go to the bus terminal, this was stressful, transport to the bus terminal costs 0.5 USD (return) and it is time consuming because of traffic.

Something we have that observed is you can't book in the evening because there is a high chance for you not to get a place.

What it does

With an AI powered chatbot, it offers a messenger bot experience to book and buy tickets.

Here, the experience is an interactive chat stream, where it allows the bot engine to capture and extract features in a cycle experience that has been defined for the user, depending on the entities received, it retrieves the data from the database and displays.

In a scenario where the user click GIVE MY DIRECTIVES, the user will star a cycle experience which will result to a carousel of cards of buses going from a given place to another at a given user appropriate time.

How we built it

We used Chatfuel to build the BBTickets prototype.

Challenges we ran into

For a better messaging experience, we found that when a customer bought or reserved, we had to send an Airline template (Boarding Pass Template) ticket instead of a plain message.

The challenge was to implement Airline template (Boarding Pass Template) feature provided by Messenger API using Chatfuel, as for our production version of BBTickets, we will certainly implement the boarding pass template ticket.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We think it is too early to be proud of the stage we are in with the BBtickets chatbot product, one thing is that we believe our chatbot will help people and businesses.

If we were proud, we would certainly be proud of our Chat bot idea.

What we learned

We have greatly improved the way to organize chatbot activities, learned how to defend our idea in a short time and many others.

What's next for BBTickets

Regarding the initial objective of the market, develop the product and deliver it for good satisfaction of travel service between customers and companies providing such service in Uganda and neighboring countries.
