Inspiration
Kostya is a basketball player, so he came up with idea for an interface to track a game and save the stats from a basketball game manually.
What it does
The interface allows you to upload a video of a game, and using the buttons, you can record certain events from the game and when it happened.
How we built it
We used HTML, JS, and CSS to create buttons on the side of a video player.
Challenges we ran into
Our general knowledge of HTML, JS, and CSS was limited, so we had to do more research in order to reach the goal. Also, some of our team members left before they could contribute to the project, so we were not able to get as much work done as we hoped.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The fact that it works is a great feeling. Also, the visuals are organized well, with the UI fitting on the screen of our computers and the color scheme giving a cool feeling.
What we learned
We learned how to upload and play videos onto a website, how we can use buttons to store data manually, and work through basic-level website.
What's next for BasketStats
We intend to make the data more accessible, add compatibility with other forms of videos, and change the team and player names.
