The trading bot at its peak

Inspiration

We got inspired by the Optiver pitch and wanted to get our hands dirty on writing a trading bot, while trying to solve the challenge that was presented to us.

What it (not) does

The trading bot uses a complicated machine learning model with blockchain technology in order to perform highly complex quantum computation to achieve a mediocre profit over a long period of time with risk of losing it all.

How we built it

We used python in Cloud9 with the API provided by Optiver.

Challenges we ran into

Many of our initial ideas performed way worse than expected. It turned out to be fairly difficult to come up with a solid strategy that performs decent on average.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The latest trading algorithm we implemented which creates minor profits over time fairly consistently.

What we learned

We discovered the world of bot trading and stock trading in general in a small scale example. Many concepts of stock trading are very clear to us now.
