Inspiration

Basketball Battleground Mobile (Swipe N Score) was inspired by the thrill of competitive street basketball. I wanted to create a game that combines skill, precision, and strategic gameplay in a fun and fast-paced mobile environment.

What it does

This game lets players take challenging basketball shots with dynamic, moving goals. Players can use power-ups to enhance their chances, track streaks for higher rewards, and compete for high scores. The unique swipe mechanics allow for precision shooting, where players control the power and direction of their shots.

How we built it

I used Horizon Engine to develop the game, focusing on smooth animations, responsive gameplay, and dynamic features. The game’s core mechanic is built around swiping, with the goal moving unpredictably after each round. I also integrated power-ups and a scoring system based on shot accuracy and streaks to keep players engaged.

Challenges we ran into

Implementing the moving goal mechanic was challenging. I had to ensure that the movement felt natural but also difficult enough to test the player’s precision. Another hurdle was balancing the power-ups so they provided an advantage without making the game too easy.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I’m most proud of the fluid mechanics that let players experience the excitement of timed basketball shots. The game’s difficulty curve also feels rewarding, and the power-ups add an exciting element to the gameplay.

What we learned

I learned a lot about creating a balanced game experience that’s both fun and challenging. It’s important to give players the tools to succeed while making them feel the accomplishment when they score after overcoming difficult shots.

What's next for Basketball Battleground Mobile (Swipe N Score)

I’m planning to add new power-ups, additional game modes, and multiplayer support to expand the game’s depth. I’m also focused on optimizing the gameplay and adding seasonal challenges to keep the player base engaged.
