Inspiration

Baseball is a sport deeply rooted in tradition, but modern audiences consume content differently—especially younger fans.

  • 3+ hour games can be too long for the TikTok generation.
  • Only 10% of young adults (18-34) name baseball as their favorite sport, compared to 41% for football.
  • Younger fans prefer bite-sized, interactive content rather than passive viewing.

With Baseball Brainrot, we aim to revolutionize baseball content consumption—turning highlights, stats, and games into a TikTok-style experience.

What It Does

Baseball Brainrot is a scrollable, interactive baseball content feed.

  • 🎥 A Swipeable Feed (/feed)
    • Baseball highlights & MLB.com articles in a TikTok-style UI.
  • 🧠 Personalized Baseball Bio
    • AI-generated summary of what teams/players you like based on your watched content.
    • Guess the Exit Velocity – Predict home run exit speeds and earn points!
    • Compete with others based on accuracy in games.

🚀 It's like TikTok, but purely for baseball.

How We Built It

Backend (Express + Supabase)

  • 🖥️ Express.js + TypeScript – Fast, lightweight backend.
  • 🛢️ Supabase (Postgres) – Stores user preferences & interactions.
  • 🔐 Clerk – Third-party authentication (Google, Outlook, etc.).

Frontend (React + Vite + TanStack Router)

  • ⚡ React + Vite – Instant reloads and fast development.
  • 🎨 Tailwind CSS – Clean UI design.
  • 🌍 TanStack Router – Manages navigation between pages.

AI Integration

  • 🤖 LLM-powered Baseball Personality Bio
    • Summarizes your viewing habits to generate a custom baseball fandom profile.
