Inspiration

We all have had times where we quickly need small items either temporarily or permanently. Whether it's a pair of soccer cleats for an upcoming IM game or a blazer jacket for a DSP rush event, the ability to trade and rent things from other students on campus is not widely available. Bartr seeks to fill this gap and provide an easy way for students to connect.

What it does

Bartr allows you to search for items and contact sellers to negotiate a price and pickup details. It allows you to rent or buy items depending on the seller's preferences. Bartr allows you to offer money, objects of your own, or a mix of the two when negotiating.

How we built it

Our team used Figma to design the various frames of the app.

Challenges we ran into

This was our team's first hackathon and first time using any sort of program like Figma, so we ran into issues trying to learn the software.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We all came a long way and learned a lot about what it means to participate in a hackathon. We all also got a lot better at using Figma.

What's next for Bartr

We hope to develop the backend in the coming weeks and hopefully publish the app one day.
